About Us

History

WYC was started by Karen N. in 2012 when her girls were high school cheerleaders, as a way to allow every little girl to have an opportunity to be a sideline cheerleader for their siblings playing football. They started with just a few girls and the program grew exponentially within a few years! When her girls graduated she handed the reins to the first ever WYC board in 2018.

The mission of Willard Youth Cheerleading is to provide inspiration, enthusiasm, and support for the Willard Football League. Through the participation and instruction in the sport of cheerleading, WYC will promote good sportsmanship, personal integrity and accountability, team cooperation, health and fitness, self-confidence and empowerment.

Head Coach/Director

Paige is a 2002 Graduate from Willard! She cheered 7th grade through her senior year at Willard (1997-2002). Paige joined in 2021 as an assistant coach/creative director. She was promoted to WYC's Vice President and took on an assistant Head Coach title the following season. She was voted President and became the Director and Head Coach in 2025 Paige lives in Springfield with her husband, Jason of 16 years and their 4 fur babies! She enjoys going to the movies, doing puzzles, swimming and of course, cheerleading!

Markie W.

Assistant Director and Coach

Markie is a medical assistant with she isn't on the sideline. She has been with her husband for 17 years and they have 2 kids, MaeLea (7) and Roman (4) Markie and her family love Jesus, travel, cheer, football and the outdoors. When Markie has free time she likes to rewatch Gilmore Girls and read!

Markie started her WYC journey joining in ALLSTARS 24/25. When her daughter continued with sideline, Markie wanted to volunteer! She started as a Squad Parent and by the end of the season she was in charge of the Team!

Markie joins the Board as the assistant director. She will be taking over the program one day!

Jason B.

Treasurer/Fundraising

Jason knew very little about cheerleading until he met Paige. Now he is busting those High V's like he's been doing this for years. Jason joined us in 2022 as a fundraising coordinator. He was voted to CFO in 2025. Jason grew up in the Boothill of Missouri until Junior High when he moved with his family to Willard and then settled in Ozark. Jason attended Drury's Police academy and worked in law enforcement in some capacity for many years. He now works for CNH Reman and spends his time with his lovely wife and their fur babies.

WYC cheerleaders affectionately call Jason, Mr. Paige. He adores the cheerleaders and they love him! You can see him working our fundraising booth, and modeling the face paint

Aubrey K.

Assistant ALLSTAR Coach/ Board Member

Aubrey joined Willard Youth Cheerleading in the fall of 2023 and has loved being a part of this cheer family ever since. Aubrey was promoted to Head Squad Parent for the sideline 2025 season, after stepping up during our ALLSTARS season! She was promoted to assistant Coach and to the Board because of her hard work and dedication to WYC.

Aubrey is married to her high school sweetheart, and together they have 2 amazing kids, Mia and MC. They spend most of their time cheering at sports events and for Jesus with their Church Family. When they slow down they like to stay home with their cat, Benji.

RaeAnn C.

Assistant Coach/ Secretary

RaeAnn is an alumni from Willard, graduating in 2002. She was a Willard Cheerleader her 8th grade and Freshman year, she also played soccer all 4 years of High School. When not at cheer, RaeAnn is an insurance adjuster and is a busy Mom of 4, with 1 son and 3 daughters. She joined WYC in sideline of 25 as a Squad Parent where she continued to show leadership skills. RaeAnn was asked to join the Board and step up as an assistant coach in the ALLSTAR season 25/26.

When she finds the time you can find her with her kids, at the pool, relaxing with a good book, or she is singing up the stage as a Karaoke Queen

Mary S.

Assistant Coach/Board Member

Mary joined WYC in ALLSTARS 23/24. She started as a Squad Parent and then continued into the sideline season. Mary was then promoted to Head Squad Parent and now assistant Coach!

AliRae H.

Assistant Coach/Tumble Coach

AliRae is a recent Kickapoo graduate and former Varsity cheerleader! Ali will start MSU in the fall, majoring in interior design. She will be coaching our youngest squad and will be our tumbling coach. WYC is so excited to have Ali join us this fall.

Ali has helped us out at a few practices in our current ALLSTAR season, and she brings such an infectious energy that our littles require!
